"Blaze and the Blazing Blazes" is the second segment of the 1st episode of the third season of Trolls: TrollsTopia, and the 39th overall episode in the series. It premiered in June 10, 2021.
Synopsis[]
When Blaze Powerchord's old bandmates come to town, Poppy and Minuet pretend to be his new bandmates to give the impression that Blaze has moved on.
Plot[]
Poppy and Minuet are practicing singing when they are interrupted by a loud guitar riff. Blaze pops out of the ground in a spectacular fashion and explains he is sad on the inside.
Blaze explains he was a member of a band, which he wanted to name "Blaze and the Other Guys", but the other members Romper and Rose wanted to call it "Literally anything but that." Rose and Romper went onto become one of the Rock Trolls' most celebrated bands within 12 hours of his departure. Blaze states they are coming here to TrollsTopia, but he doesn't want them to know he hasn't moved on. After some "Blaze Storming" he asks the pair if they could pretend to be his band. Poppy and Minuet try and tell him he needs to make things right with the band instead of lying to himself. When he enters a mouth guitar ballard of woes, the pair give into their sympathy for him and agree to help.
Blaze states the news is incredible, and this former band is just next to them. Romper and Rose greet Blaze welcomingly. He introduces Poppy and Minuet to them, and Rose wants to know their band name. Poppy and Minuet make up the name "Blaze and the Blazing Blazes" on the spot nervously, and the five Trolls get into a nervous laugh together.
In Rock Hollow, they talk and Romper and Rose want to know how Blaze met Minuet and Poppy. He says he doesn't know once again, and Minuet and Poppy have to invent a backstory on the spot, claiming they met at a picnic at a hair saloon. Blaze decides they should all go on a hair saloon picnic right now. At the picnic at Maddy's hair saloon, they are then asked about their first hit song as things continue to get nervously awkward and the girls are left once again spinning a tale. They are asked to play the song, but the girls don't have instruments, yet Blaze has brought some along. They play, but the song is naturally terrible.
Elsewhere, Blaze gets the idea they left his old bandmates confused and he goes to play alone on his non-existent guitar. Minuet says that Blaze can be a lot, but she does care about him. The two decide to try and convince the band they're a real band themselves as Romper and Rose will still be around in the morning.
Blaze wakes up the next morning and Poppy has a note for him, telling him to follow their lead. They sing the song they claim they wrote about a thing in front of a live audience. The song impresses Romper and Rose, who leave later and claim Blaze and the Blazing Blazes rocks, having a change of mind after they were convinced the band had never played together yesterday. After they leave Blaze, Poppy and Minuet celebrate their victory at convincing the two Rock Trolls they were actually a band. But Blaze is not satisfied and still feels sad inside, to which Poppy and Minuet suggest him to tell them how he feels.
Blaze catches up to the duo later that night. Using Mouth Guitar, he expresses how he feels to the others. Romper and Rose are okay with him being honest and depart, wishing him and his new band well. Blaze is satisfied with the outcome and feels like a weight was lifted from him. Minuet says it was fun and Poppy suggests they start a real band, but Blaze is content with his solo act and he leaves. Poppy and Minuet shrug as they perform a mouth guitar duet.

Trivia[]
- The title is a joke about older trends of naming bands, wherein the frontal or most well-known member is considered to be the owner of the band, with the rest of the band having been hired to support them. As a result, the two parties despite performing together, have separate contracts. A real-life example of this at play was when Michael Jackson left the Jackson 5; later references to the two would use "Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5" at times when both acts were referred to in one sentence, though in this case they were never regarded as a licensed property together while Jackson was alive.
- In this case, the joke also overuses variants of the word "Blaze", making the name suffer from a bit of redundancy.
- Rose has her hair in the shape of a rose. Romper's name is a type of clothing, but is most likely a play on "romp", which means "to play rough and energetically".
- Blaze's decision to "go solo" is a nod to a common occurrence with bands over time. Talented members often have the ability to carry themselves so depart from a band to continue their act independently, or alternatively they become solo artists after the band splits up.
- The advantage of going solo is not having to share royalties with other bandmates and more control over their own image, but going solo doesn't always work out, and can lead to obscurity due to how attached the solo artist's name was to their past band, making a solo act a high risk, but also a high-rewarded move if done right.
- The main issue is that the band may have worked because of the combined talent, and there can be various reasons for a solo artist not working, such as being the least talented or only working as a support member and not a lead. A example of this is a backup singer group, which is formed because the singers have vocals which support each other, but don't detract from the main singer, and often they can't stand up on their own.
