"Bubbled In" is the first segment of the 1st episode of the sixth season of Trolls: TrollsTopia, and the 78th overall episode in the series. It premiered in February 17, 2022.
Synopsis[]
When a bubble storm forces all of TrollsTopia to stay sheltered inside all day, we follow three sets of Trolls and explore how each decides to pass the time.
Plot[]
At Classical Crest, Laguna Tidepool and Tiny Diamond are walking when some bubbles come floating along. At first, they are calm until Minuet Sonata warns them those are not ordinary bubbles - it is a bubble storm.
In Pop Village, Poppy calls to the Trolls to remember their training - grab some besties and take shelter. Minuet and Laguna (although not seen, Tiny is with them) end up sheltering together, while Holly Demo and Val Thundershock end up together, while Poppy and the Funk sisters Rhythm & Blues end up together. Seeing they are in for a while, Poppy, Holly, and Tiny ask "who's up for a game?".
Val pushes the other two Trolls out of the insert screen out the way and tells Holly Rock Trolls like to play "the ground is lava". At first, Holly thinks they are pretending that the floor is lava, but Demo and Val actually mean they fill the floor with lava. While Demo and Val love this, Holly is horrified that the floor is actually lava, but the two Rock Trolls fail to see how it is a bad thing. She demands the two Rock Trolls turn their nonsense off right now, to which Demo points to the lever and says to just turn it off. The lever, however, is now impossible to get to. She cannot believe they had put the lever across a pit of lava to turn it off but the two Rock Trolls don't think it is a bad thing. Holly is in hysterics.
Tiny is being taught how to play Trolls Chess by Laguna and Minuet. Minuet brags about learning how to play at a age 10 and up level at merely two years of age. Tiny moves his "horsey" and immediately puts the two older Trolls into hugmate much to his confusion. They put the game down to beginner's luck and continue to game against him constantly losing. Tiny notes this is getting embarrassing for them as their grown ups. He tells them to man up and win before this gets out of hand.
Meanwhile, R and B are about to pull out some games to play at Poppy's Pod, she tells them to open the door on the right, they open the one on the left and stuff pours out. It turns out these are Poppy's "keepsakes". They ask her how she has fun with all this stuff, she tries to demonstrate that she still has fun despite the clutter. She slips and falls on something. They open a trash dimension, and go to throw two lollipop wrappers away. Poppy stops them, as they were the candy wrappers from the first time she and Branch had lollipops together with her having Cherry and he had unflavored.
Val and Demo are having fun but Holly is too scared to play, Val states she almost lost an eyebrow and Demo notes he has. Holly tells them she is staying put on her table where its safe and to just turn off the lava, the pair go to do so only to find the platform leading to it begins to be destroyed until they are trapped. Trapped the pair panic as they become aware of how dangerous lava is, they ask "why in the name of Rock they do this?". They beg Holly to try and save them, Holly takes a leap and then some more until she reaches the lever. The Rock duo jump into the air as their platform disappears, Holly pulls the switch instantly draining away the lava and saves them, declaring herself the winner. They thank her for saving them, but Holly actually likes the game, she pulls the lever much to the horror of Val and Demo.
Minuet and Laguna finally beat Tiny but as they celebrate they realize he threw the game on purpose. They call his bluff and he confesses he did loose on purpose. Tiny apologizes and says he felt bad beating two grown-ups over and over, he begins to cry about it. They tell him that sometimes his going to be the very best, and even against experts in their field. They decide to do some non-competitive stuff like coloring. Tiny outshines them in this too.
In Poppy's pod, she is getting stressed out as she is unable to throw anything away. The Funk Sisters tell her to just find something. Poppy, however, can't even part with a wrapper as she gives it meaning as the first item she choose to throw out. And now it has meaning, she can't bring herself to throw it out either. R and B hit the suction to get rid of the wrapper. Poppy begs them not to throw it away. What is trash to them has value to her because everything has meaning, she sees the faces of Trolls she loves. Eventually they give in and instead of a Trash dimension give her a storage one. She could store her things and be clutter free; the stuff is there when she wants it. Soon the storm has ended and she has filled that and asks for another. With the storm over, the Trolls come out to sing as they see the rainbow.
Minuet stops them and notes that is not just a rainbow - it is a rainbow storm, and the Trolls run away in terror as rainbow lightning comes out of it.

Trivia[]
- This is the first episode to premiere in 2022.
- The title is a pun on the word "Bubbling".
- The title is also a nod to the term "Snowed In", which refers to when snow falls so heavy that homes often have their doors blocked and owners cannot leave without digging themselves out.
- "Hoarding" is when a person collects items in excessive amounts and has issues letting them go. This leads to a number of additional problems such as difficulty maintaining their property and living spaces, wasting huge amounts of money, and generally untidy living, but all types are considered a form of mental health issue. The condition occurs for various reasons, such as is giving these items a personal or emotional value, other times its a result of the person's physical health or bad habits including laziness and a lack of hygiene awareness. Hoarding can be anything from being unwilling to take the rubbish out thus allowing it to build up, or to hoarding a particular collectible type of items such as books or onement's. The "hoard" can often be seen as a form of "wealth" to that person but in reality the value is often just to that person alone. The condition comes from a natural instinct to hoard resources that animals (including humans) do, such as storing food during hard times, and like many things is an instinct that has gone to an extreme level. Hoarding often only continues to get worst if not treated, and it can actually be considered a mistake to encourage it.
- The Trolls account later posted a tweet with advice for hoarding.[1]
- "The floor is lava" is a classic (normally child's game) wherein the players pretend the floor is covered in lava. To traverse the room, the players must use furniture and objects to step across without actually stepping on the floor.
- If you pay attention to the game of Trolls Chess, if the rules are the same as normal Chess, then it should be noted Tiny did not have the two older Trolls in "hugmate/checkmate". Checkmate is achieved when the "king" has nowhere to go and the player manages to move a piece that captures the king. If the King cannot move, and has no pieces that can move instead, its a stallmate. This also didn't happen. While there is far less pieces then a chess game normally has, the "King" was in no position to be taken by the "horsey" (knight). The piece he knocked down when he declared the "hugmate", was merely a pawn.
- In fact, a lot of pieces are missing. The Trolls have 2 Rooks, 1 Queen, about 4 pawns (it varies per shot), and 1 Knight etc. The game is missing two bishops, the actual King piece that are mentioned, half the pawns, and a knight. The missing pieces are shown in other episodes and this was likely done for animation ease.
- "Beginner's luck" is the act of winning on one's first game after only just learning the rules of a new game. Much of the "luck" is simply due to the player experiencing something new and therefore being focused on learning the new game with a high attention, without overthinking the situation as many advanced players do. Much of it is also down to luck and underestimation from the more experienced players.
- In Trolls World Tour, Rock Trolls were shown to be Lava-proof when one jumped lava and simply found it "a little hot". Here, their afraid of it.
- The storyboard animatic version of this episode was uploaded by Andrew Bendik's storyboard website.[2][3][4][5]
