"Chummy Sparklestone" is the first segment of the 4th episode of the sixth season of Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, and the 70th overall episode in the series. It premiered on April 9, 2019.
Synopsis[]
Poppy and The Snack Pack perform a mystery scene starring Cooper as Chummy Sparklestone, but Cooper takes his role too seriously around Troll Village.
Plot[]
Members of The Snack Pack are having a mystery party with Poppy reporting in-character that her candy necklace has been stolen. It is up to Chummy Sparklestone, played by Cooper to solve the mystery; except Cooper can't get into character and goes looking for Chummy. Guy Diamond explains that Cooper is taking things literally, which has been a problem before. The trick Guy knows is to make Cooper forget that he is Cooper and make him believe that he is Chummy Sparklestone: the great hero detective who loves finding clues, solving mysteries and feeding Smidge desserts. When the others react to the last one, Smidge states she couldn't resist.
Cooper begins to act as Chummy and gives Smidge a cupcake, stating he doesn't know who Cooper is. Getting back in character, Poppy states the culprit has left no clues, but Chummy soon finds gold paint that links the culprit to Branch, who is playing as the local golf expert. Chummy goes one step further and reveals the group are pretending to be someone else. Poppy asks Guy if he broke Cooper, to which he says that it looks like Cooper is stuck as Chummy until something makes him revert back. Branch suggests that they take advantage of Cooper's situation.
At Branch's bunker, he reveals that he used to lay traps around it (prior to the events of Trolls), and all are accounted for except one. This news frightens the Trolls, but Branch ensures them the traps are safe as a fly sets off one. A frown from Poppy sends Branch begging Chummy for help. Chummy points to a whimsical cookie jar out of place in the bunker and smashes it to reveal the last trap. Branch thanks him and notes he could have avoided breaking the cookie jar. Chummy goes around the village solving mysteries.
The Trolls are holding a ceremony in Chummy's honor with Peppy's secret ingredient to his infamous upside-down cake. However, the first trouble with Chummy begins as he reveals the secret ingredient is black jellybeans, causing no-one to want to eat the cake and upsetting Peppy. Poppy states that Cooper was not supposed to reveal that, but Chummy is still calling the shots and states he will solve every mystery in the village.
At Guy's pod, Guy has several Trolls around eating red velvet cupcakes. Chummy breaks in and reveals that despite claiming he loves them, Biggie hasn't eaten any of them as he doesn't actually like red velvet. Biggie is upset that his secret is out. At Mags Gumdrop's gift exchange party, Chummy spoils the secret of what's in each gift when no one is supposed to know about it.
Biggie reports to Poppy how Cooper is spoiling fun across the village, having spoiled 15 surprise parties in the last hour alone. At that moment, Chenille comes along with a problem for Poppy that is at risk from Cooper spoiling it. She has spent months making a dress for Satin and is almost finished, but doesn't want her sister to know what she has been up to until the dress is done. Poppy asks how she keeps secrets from her sister, to which she reveals that she threatens to spoil the endings of books she wants to read.
Chummy arrives and says there's a mystery afoot. The group runs and Poppy tries to spare Chenille from her surprise being ruined but Chummy persists. Finally, when he is about to spoil the surprise for Satin, Poppy reveals one mystery remains: what happened to Cooper. Chummy is given a piece of Cooper's hair and concludes that Cooper is him. He freezes on the spot and poops cupcakes, revealing that he has reverted back to Cooper and it was weird even for him.
Later, Satin receives her sister's dress and they go off so Satin can try it on. While Poppy is happy that all signs of Chummy have disappeared, Smidge is disappointed until Cooper gives her a crème brûlée to cheer her up.

Trivia[]
- Cooper's character is a reference to Sherlock Holmes.
- This is the second nod to the character from a Trolls animation. The first is the character of "Sureluck" in "The Norfin Adventures".
- A "mystery party" is a social roleplaying event held by a host and played by 3 or more players, usually being tasked to solve a fictional robbery or murder (though other crime types are possible). The following are the typical rules of the game:
- Each player has been given a pre-made role (such as "maid", "boyfriend", "police officer", "detective", etc.) and a basic details of their personality (meek, clumsy, old, etc.), even things like history or telling a player "hold your arm like you're injured". Among the roles, a "secret" one is given to one or more players: the criminal. Another secret role may also be present, known as "victim" in the case of a murder, though some versions will use a dummy in place of a player as the choice to use a actual player who pretends to be dead can make the game require a minimum of 4 players instead of 3. Plus, it's sometimes hard for a player to spend hours pretending to be dead. All secret roles must not be revealed to other players.
- All the players are present in the same room when the event begins. The lights are often turned off in the room, sending it into darkness, and one of two usual things occur: first, in the case of a robbery, the lights go on and the item will be missing. Second, in the murder mystery scenario, the "victim" is laying dead on the ground when the lights turn back on (with a scream being sometimes also included during the darkness period). Regardless, the darkened room is the moment in which the criminal will strike.
- The rest of the game consists of players trying to figure out who committed the crime by picking apart each others' alibis and personalities, all without breaking character. Meanwhile, the criminal(s) doesn't want the players to figure out it's them, so they'll have to constantly work out how to throw them off their sent. When the players are sure they've figured it out between them, they'll accuse one of committing the crime; that player will then reveal their role as "innocent" or "guilty". For the players, they win if they find the criminal. For the criminal, they win if the players falsely accuse someone else.
- There are variations of the game. For example, sometimes the host chooses only one role detective, who's allowed to search for clues and figure out the mystery. Other versions have the players start in different rooms, and then meet only when the criminal has struck. Some hosts prefer their players to dress up in costumes, though this isn't often a requirement. Also, the host may or may not play a part in the game, the latter case being a neutral role.
