Forgive Me, also referred to as Branch's Apology Song, is a song from the Trolls: The Beat Goes On! episode Creek Week, written by Creek and sung by Branch.
About[]
When Creek returns to Troll Village after the events of Trolls most of the village is forgiving towards him - except Branch. The situation turns on Branch after he tries to prove Creek is not trust worthy, instead Branch gets the situation thrown back at him and is told to apologise to Creek.
Creek refuses to accept Branch's apology until he sings this song in front of the entire village. Branch faces the situation of either sing the song or be alone like he was before. Branch eventually sings the song after he finds it impossible to go back to the way things were before the events of Trolls.
According to Creek, the song was meant to be sung in the key of A-sharp, but forgives Branch for the events of the episode. DJ Suki remixes the song. The snippet version of remix used to find Branch's Gem is later heard in Gem Day.
The song contains exploitations of Branch's situation while boastering Creek's ego, as some of the lyrics were written to make Branch sing about how wonderful Creek is when in reality none of those particular lines are true.
Lyrics[]
Episode version[]
Would you forgive me for
Everything I've done?
I didn't mean it
I should've seen that
I was hurting someone
You shine bright like the sun in the sky
On a beautiful day
You're enlightened but humble
And handsome and so very bra-a-ave
I'm so sorry
Show me mercy
Oh, enlightened one
Oh, won't you forgive me?
Soundtrack version[]
Would you forgive me for
Everything I've done?
I didn't mean it
I should've seen that
I was hurting someone
You shine bright like the sun in the sky
On a beautiful day
You're enlightened but humble
And handsome and so very bra-a-ave
I'm so sorry
Show me mercy
Oh, enlightened one
And would you forgive the way
Every single day
I could've done better
Now I'm regretting
Everything I said
You're a radiant being illuminating our way
We'd be lost in the dark
Without you and your glittering ga-a-aze!
I'm so sorry
Show me mercy
Oh, enlightened one
Oh, won't you forgive me
For the mess that I made
See I keep reliving
All the guilt and the shame
Just one you'll be giving
And I promise I'll change
'Cause I can't keep going on
All this pain I cause keeps me aw-a-ay!
I'm so sorry
Show me mercy
Oh, enlightened one
Oh, won't you forgive me?
Trivia[]
- In an interview, Skylar Astin, Branch's voice actor for the series, mentioned this song was a lot of fun. The song also goes into the falsetto range and several verses were recorded for this particular song. The song was noted by Skylar to be a bit out of his vocal range at times.[1]
