"Funtography Day" is the second segment of the 2nd episode of the second season of Trolls: TrollsTopia, and the 29th overall episode in the series. It premiered on March 18, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Tomorrow is picture day in TrollsTopia, and everyone is excited! Except for Minuet Sonata, who claims the inability to ever take a good photograph. Poppy, Holly, and Guy Diamond team up to help Minuet overcome her photogenic foibles.
Plot[]
At the Metroll Station, a big announcement is being made as the Metroll Rail System officially opens tomorrow. Poppy is announcing Branch's big new idea.
The scene cuts to Branch pitching his idea for a high-tech security system that monitors who is travelling on the Metroll. Poppy and Holly love the idea, but Poppy wants to remove the "security" part, leaving only the fun photo badges behind. So everyone is getting their photo taken tomorrow. A loud scream from the crowd calls out and Minuet is horrified by the idea. She flies off, leaving Poppy confused.
Holly and Poppy are checking on Minuet, who is aggressively playing her violin. She denies playing it hard until it breaks. It turns out that Minuet isn't looking forward to picture day. She explains that as a talented musician able to speak 17 languages and with the position of 1st chair violinist, she can learn any talent she sets her mind on. However, the only talent she has never cracked is photography. Every photo she has ever taken of herself was never good. She shows Poppy and Holly an album full of bad photos that scare them. Poppy tries to cheer her up by saying she is awesome anyway, but the photo situation still bothers Minuet, even though she tries to accept it is not an issue as even a young child can do it. She begins to play again with a new violin.
Poppy takes her to Guy Diamond, who has never taken a bad picture. Guy shows her his "guyllery" of photos, all of them being very good. Guy is lost in his own talent for a moment, and explains that he often relies with extra help, such as fans to blow his hair or have his glitter waxed for 3 days. He shows his best photo; the one which was taken at the golden second of a moment when the cosmos aligns. Guy notes it can't be predicted and is honored to help Minuet as her "Guyde".
On picture day, Guy, Holly and Poppy help Minuet take her best photo. A montage of her posing happens. When the montage ends, not a single photo turned out great.
Just then, the cosmos align and seeing a Golden Second may happen they get Minuet posed. Guy holds off the photography and they time it just right, taking the best photo Minuet has ever taken in her life. While rushing to take a look, Minuet sets off a chain reaction that blows the photo away. Trolls scramble to grab the picture, and Tiny Diamond grabs what he thinks is it but it's not. For a moment, a photo drifts between Demo and Gust Tumbleweed with neither grabbing it. Minuet spots the photo on the Metroll tracks and goes to get it free. As she does, the Metroll comes and Poppy, Guy and Holly tell her to leave the photo. Minuet doesn't want to leave the only good photo she has ever taken, until Poppy mentions the Train.
Minuet escapes the tracks just in time with the train shredding the photo. Minuet has a realization that her obsession with the photo has just nearly gotten herself steamrolled by the train over a 4x3 glossy. She decides to end the madness, acknowledging that being a talented person is better than a single photo. She randomly grabs another photo for the train badge. She proudly boasts of her achievements, and accepts that photography just won't be a talent she'll ever master. She is still sad that she will be the only Troll on the Metroll with a bad photo. Poppy has an idea.
The other Trolls all take bad photos to spare Minuet being the only one on the Metroll with a bad photo, and Minuet thanks her friends for their help. Everyone gathers together to take a group shot of the Metroll Train.

- "Funtography" is likely a portmanteau between "fun" and "photography".
- Minuet says "OMB♭ minor, which is of course a play on the phrase "OMG", meaning "Oh my god". The joke is that "G" is also a music note, and Minuet switched "G" for another note.
- Minuet's displays the mental illness rumination in this episode, based on her obbession over a small thing.
