Glitter is a metallic stripe of paper or metal that has been cut into small squares. Glitter is a common thing in the Trolls franchise.
About[]

Glitter has high value to Trolls (and worms).
Glitter is seen as a wonderful thing by Trolls, and most of them enjoy its shimmer. On the other hand, Bergens generally dislike glitter. Glitter is liked by the Trolls because it's shiny and fun to them, to the point that in Trolls: TrollsTopia, they place high value on it.
In the Trolls: TrollsTopia episode "TrollsTopia", four of the five Troll ambassadors were impressed by the idea glitter falls in Troll Forest naturally (in reality it was fake), with only Val Thundershock of the Rock Trolls not having such reaction. According to "Glitter Rush", glitter is found underground in glitter veins, from which it flows upwards to the surface into pools of glitter. Trolls generally panic if there's a storage of glitter.

Cooper lost in a glittery desert
In the harsh deserts of the Funk Trolls domain, as shown in Trolls World Tour, the very sand is made of gold glitter. Here it takes the place of sand, forming giant dunes. Being lost in such a place, however, is not as pleasant as it would seem as there is no shade and nothing but extreme heat. These conditions causes illusionary mirages. As no plant life exists here or water, any Troll that is lost here is doomed to perish, unable to find any significant locations as a guide to leave the glittery desert.
Glitter, however, is not without a number of other drawbacks. In a story from "Trolly Tales 2", the character of "Guydas" (played by Guy Diamond) gained the ability to turn everything he touched into glitter. Guydas had a piece of glitter fall in his eye, which was painful to the point that he had to get it out of the eye.
Trolls[]
Glitter Trolls have skin made of glitter, and are highly valued by other Trolls because of this. Guy Diamond is highly proud, and Glitter Trolls themselves have a lot of vanity as a result of their skin. These Trolls are also the only ones able to fart glitter.
Glitter is still naturally present on some other Trolls, though. Examples include the following:
- Queen Poppy has glitter freckles on her cheeks, and in Trolls, Branch also gets them while showing his True Colors.
- The Classical Trolls and Skyscraper both have glittery skin (though not as intense as that of the Glitter Trolls).
- In Trolls World Tour, when Satin pricks her finger on a needle, her blood is shown to be glittery.
- In the Trolls: TrollsTopia episode "Smidge in the Saddle", Poppy throws up glitter.
Fountain of Glitter[]

The Fountain of Glitter.
Seen in the Trolls: The Beat Goes On! episode "Glitter Loss", the Fountain of Glitter is a mystical well that flows glitter, located somewhere in Troll Forest. It has the ability to decorate everything that is dipped in its glitter pool with permanent glitter. A Troll must be careful when swimming in the fountain, as the glittery effect that applies to them upon doing so is based on pride; the bigger the ego of the Troll, the more the Troll shines, and the more dangerous they become to those around them. The Troll who dips into the pool must maintain a level of humbleness to contain the brightness, but they musn't be too humble either, as they'll otherwise loose their shine completely.
Fool's Glitter[]

Biggie and Mr. Dinkles find fool's glitter.
According to "Glitter Rush", there's a "fool's glitter", which looks similar to glitter but isn't the same as it. One identifying trait of fool's glitter is that it doesn't stick to the skin for 3 days, instead falling off straight away.
Trivia[]
- A running gag of Poppy involves her spraying glitter in the faces of those who dislike it. This includes Branch (twice in Trolls), King Gristle Jr. (in Trolls Holiday) and Queen Barb (in Trolls World Tour).
- Glitter has the same value to Trolls as gold and diamonds normally have to humans in the real world.
- Glitter Trolls come in a variety of colors. However, glitter itself is often depicted as silver by default in the franchise. Guy Diamond and Tiny Diamond are the only two Glitter Trolls that are identical in color to said naturally-occurring glitter, though some come to close tones as well.
- One of the rare times non-silver glitter was used is in Trolls World Tour, where Barb is sprayed with pink glitter from Poppy's letter to her.
