Glitterborne Chronicles is a series of scrapbooks written by R.T. Plumegrass. It originally consisted of six books, but a seventh and final book was later added.
About[]

Madame Maelstrom (left), the series' antagonist, and Lady Marigold (right), the protagonist
The series is of a fantasy-genre with piñata giants. It is about Lady Marigold, a kind and strong-hearted heroine on a quest to reclaim the Party Hat of Destiny from the evil Madame Maelstrom. The series included 270 characters, and 52 realms, as well as a tangled web of backstories told out of order. The series is considered the greatest Pop Troll series ever scissored.
The author also wrote a dense companion anthology to explain it all.
The name of the author was assumed to be a pen name until the events of Trolls: TrollsTopia episode "The Last Scrapbook" where the real identity of the author turned out to be Rufus who had given up writing after it got too hard to continue writing the series, leaving the book series unfinished at book six and no book seven.
Poppy thought she was the only die-hard fan of the series, until Val Thundershock was revealed to be the only other Troll who adored the books as much as she did. Val picked up the series by accident when she went looking for something to help with her guitar arrangements and misread the title as "Guitarborne". She found the book called out to her and she was hooked on knowing what happened. However, their reasons for liking the series were different as Val saw Madame Maelstrom as the heroine of the story due to how her dragons keep the realm on its toes.
Clues were left by the author. Due to its age, it meant the author was from King Peppy's generation. The cut lines suggested a left-handed cutter, and a strand of hair was caught under one picture.
The main issue about the series was how to end it. Both Lady Marigold and Madame Maelstrom were strong characters both deserving of the Party Hat of Destiny, and settling the two's conflict proved too much for the original author and so he quit. Poppy and Val managed to resolve the ending by proposing the two join forces and work together. Plumegrass liked the ending and decided to write the seventh book. The ending was satisfying but yet ambiguous, making it uncertain.
Trivia[]
- Poppy and Val's interpretations of who actually is the hero is likely a nod back to the conflict of Trolls World Tour, where Poppy and Queen Barb both thought they were doing the right thing.
- Lady Marigold and Madame Maelstrom are depicted as Glitter Trolls, keeping in line the series' title of "Glitterborne" as both are "born of glitter".
- It is confirmed by Jim Mortensen that Lady Marigold was likely based on She-Ra.[1]
- Despite being Glitter Trolls, both the main characters wear clothes - this is odd for Glitter Trolls whose vanity makes them uncomfortable with clothing as it hides their natural beauty.
