"Guy Misses Out" is the second segment of the 5th episode of the fifth season of Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, and the 61st overall episode in the series. It premiered on January 18, 2019.
Synopsis[]
Guy tries to understand an inside joke confusing him.
Plot[]
Guy Diamond is outside a party trying to figure out how to make a grand entrance. Poppy spies him and asks if he's coming to the party. He explains that he just can't acknowledge his grand entrance, and he can't go inside until he figures this out.
Suddenly, laughter inside the party catches their attention. Smidge tries to explain what they missed, but is laughing so hard she can't catch her breath. The group explains DJ Suki was hungry, so a snack was tossed at her by Smidge, which missed and hit Satin and Chenille, then Cooper and landed in Biggie's drink. Biggie said "Ding-dong that's a no-no", making everyone burst out laughing.
Guy doesn't get what is so funny about the phrase, and Smidge says that he had to be there. Guy toots horns, and tells DJ to get the party going again. but she puts the wrong record on. Smidge re-quotes Biggie and the party is in laughter once more. Poppy tells Guy to relax, but he can't as he missed the inside of a good joke.
At Creek's yoga class, Guy is with 3 other Glitter Trolls. He overrelaxes and farts glitter, to which Creek repeats Biggie's phrase. 2 Trolls are sinking in a pit of quicksand and Guy unsuccessfully throws them a lifebuoy and he hears the phrase again. Even at a stand-up comedy, the phrase is once again repeated.
In the market, Poppy comes across a stressed out Guy. He waits for someone to do a mistake, and repeats the phrase when Aspen Heitz drops his ice cream. No one is laughing and Guy can't understand. Smidge explains the way he said it was just off.
Poppy take him to a comedy course, and goes through all the ways the phrase could be spoken that makes it funny. Guy shows off his efforts later and they laugh at him. It works until Keith asks why it was funny, and it turns out Poppy had their friends pretend that what Guy was doing was funny to cheer him up. Poppy explains they wanted him on the joke as well, but as Smidge explains he just had to be there to find it funny.
He gathers everyone together to recreate the party. Poppy states that he didn't give them much choice, as the invites were overdramatic. He gathers everyone in their places and hands Smidge the snack, telling her to create the shot. After many failed attempts, Poppy steps in and tells Guy that everyone has had enough. The last shot does the trick, and recreates the failed attempt to toss the snack to DJ. Guy finally gets the joke.
Repeating the joke, Guy becomes overdramatic, which kills the joke much to his dismay.

Trivia[]
- From this episode onwards, Poppy's dress has its colors reversed and is buttoned with a pink heart.
- In one scene, Poppy's headband is colored red instead of green.
- Although he appears and is shown laughing, Branch has no lines in this episode.
- An instrumental version of Boom Da Party is heard at Guy Diamond's party recreation.
- This is the third episode to have Guy Diamond's name in the title, the first being "Coop, Where's My Guy?" and "Weekend At Diamond's".
- The joke is a reference to the "in-house joke" or just "in-joke". This is when a small group of people know or understand a joke that no one else does, and it's only funny to them.
- This is the second time the series referenced Gallagher, a comedian who smashed watermelons as part of his act. The first time was in "Remote Out Of Control".
- It is common for someone to fart while doing exercise, especially stretching ones such as yoga. This is because the act of stretching loosens the bodies muscles, including the buttocks' area, and is sometimes aided by stomach compressions as the person bends. This is why Guy Diamond farts while doing yoga.
