"Journey to the Center of TrollsTopia" is the second segment of the 3rd episode of the sixth season of Trolls: TrollsTopia, and the 83rd overall episode in the series. It premiered in February 17, 2022.
Synopsis[]
When an underground river of lava threatens all of Rock Hollow, Poppy leads the Hard Rock Trolls deep under the earth to save the day.
Plot[]
Val, Demo and Blaze host a rock concert and smash a bunch of guitars during this. Branch and Poppy approach them to comment on their concert, and ask about the smashed guitars. The Rock Trio are not bothered since they just throw them into a lava pit. There is a rumble after they do so, and Branch notes they need to stop throwing guitars into the lava pit as its causing the magma flow under Rock Hollow. Blaze ask him to explain and he pulls out a scrapbook and explains how the magma works. Poppy comments on how much his improved his scrapbook skills and the Trio agree that the Rock Trolls should stop throwing guitars into the lava pit.
However, it is later shown that the other Rock Trolls are still putting guitars in the lava pit. Poppy and Branch approach them about why they didn't tell the other Hard Rock Trolls to stop throwing their broken guitars in the lava, but it turns out Val passed the task onto Demo who in turn passed it onto Blaze who promptly forgot. Demo explains they aren't organized and Val explains Rock Trolls prefer to wing it. A shake happens and branch believes the hollow has 1 hour tops before the Hollow blows. Branch says they have discussed things and there is a solution.
Poppy unleashes one of the Pop Trolls' great weapons: a giant plunger. The Rock trio asks why the Pop Trolls have a giant plunger, to which Poppy replies she doesn't know why they don't have 10 of them, as the Pop Trolls hair is so lush it clogs up everything. They have to take the plunger underground using a drill on the front to reach the clog, but piloting it will mean the group has to be organized. A crack forms below them, and they manage to save all 5 of them from falling in.
On board the drill, Poppy explains Branch will navigate while the four of them peddle; it will take all four of them cooperating to steer the drill. The Rock trio immediately fail to work together, causing the drill to speed off and Branch is tossed from the drill and left behind. The drill tunnels out of control underground. They stop and Poppy says they need to go back for Branch, begging the trio to get organized. When asking for ideas, all three Rock Trolls talk at once, and Poppy can't get a coherent answer from them as a reason - even when asked to speak one at a time. Without Poppy being able to control the situation, the trio once again begin to peddle in an attempt to "wing it" Rock Troll style. During the chaotic digging they even dig out a glitter vein at Country Corral, before arriving back at Branch, but once again driving off without him.
Somehow they make it to the magma clog but a new problem occurs - the plunger is missing, with once again Val passing the task of bringing it to Demo who passed it to Blaze who then proceeded to once again forget to do what he was asked. With no way to save Rock Hollow the trio finally grasp the situation, they play a final goodbye song to Rock Hollow, and Poppy realizes the only time Rock Trolls get it together is when they're playing music. So all they have to do is work together to ram the clog with the drill and unclog it.
Back onboard the Drill, they sing and play music together and the 4 Trolls manage to unclog the magma. After returning to Rock Hollow, the Rock Trolls celebrate by throwing more guitars into the lava pit - thus beginning the clogging anew. The four Trolls get back into the drill to go unclog it once more.

Trivia[]
- The episode's title is based on the novel and film Journey to the Center of the Earth.
- The plot is likely a reference to the film The Core.
- The film is about a team who attempts to drill to the center of the Earth to correct the Earth's rotation and protect the surface of the Earth. Similarly, the Rock Trolls have to drill into a blocked lava vein to unclog its flow and protect Rock Hollow.
- In the film, the drilling team hits a Diamond in the center of the Earth. In this episode, Poppy and the Rock Trolls hit a glitter veing with their drill; glitter takes the place of gold and diamonds in value to the Trolls, and they hit a glitter vein during their journey.
- Previously, a glitter vein was the topic of the episode "Glitter Rush". They hit the vein in Country Corral, and like before, the reference is to the Gold Rush or Oil Rush's reaction.
- Realistically, the lava would have melted or burnt the guitars.
- In Trolls World Tour, Rock Trolls were shown to be lava-proof, just feeling the heat of the lava but not being burned, but in "Bubbled In", they were shown to fear lava. In this episode, their instruments are lava-proof instead.
- This episode marks the eighth time the gag of "gravity does not work until you look down" occurs in the series.
