Quincy, otherwise known as Q, is the king of the Funk Trolls, being one of the two heads of the Funky Family. He first appears in Trolls World Tour.
Appearance[]
- Normal
King Quincy is a purple-skinned Funk Troll with a yellow nose. His hair has dreads of pink and blue, with a tuft of fur that's not part of the dreads on the right side of his head. He has a blue beard. His fur and neck are covered in golden tinsel strips and he wears a golden cape with a star pattern, as well as jewelled rings on the fingers/toes of his front limbs. He also has gold shades and a star earring on his left ear, which matches the one worn by his son Prince D. Quincy stands taller than his wife Essence and his sons, as well as the other Funk Trolls.

Things in Vibe City haven’t always been so laid back. In fact, generations before, the Funk Trolls were forced to flee to a remote corner of the kingdom because the Pop Trolls were trying to steal everyone else’s music. They were trying to bland it out, de-funk it, auto-tune it—it wasn’t cool. The Pop Trolls were not a priority for the king since one of his beloved twin boys, Cooper, was taken from him many years ago. Once Cooper finds his way home, and the royal family has been reunited at last, the king can finally sleep sound at night. King Quincy had nearly given up on finding Cooper after his egg rolled out of the nest many years ago. But now, with the royal family reunited, Cooper and his parents enjoy a tearful, heartfelt homecoming. "Working with George Clinton, as King Quincy, was unbelievable to me," says Ron Funches, who plays Cooper. "Seeing him perform in concert was one of my biggest inspirations to get started in entertainment. It looked like he was having so much fun, and I wanted to have that type of fun. Now, I get to have that type of fun with one of the fathers of funk himself!"[1] |

Personality[]
King Quincy is a kind and fun-loving father, husband, and a wise ruler of his people. Despite knowing of the ancient Pop Trolls' misdeeds, he doesn't hold them against Queen Poppy, taking the time to explain to her the truth of the Troll Tribes' past and wisely telling her that the Troll Tribes are not all of the same, like Poppy thinks, and "denying [their] differences is denying the truth of who [they] are". Essence and Quincy are the most traditionally "regal" of the Tribal monarchs, holding themselves in high dignity as King and Queen.
He shows fearlessness and orders his people to prepare for battle when the Rock Trolls come for them and their string.
Alongside his wife, Quincy comes to the realization that music may have started with the strings, but it truly came from the Trolls and their hearts.
He tells "dad jokes" (lame ones according to his son Cooper).
Relationships[]
Friends[]
Queen Poppy[]
He harbored no disdain for Poppy, though he shared a different opinion with her when it came to the Tribes' unification.
Queen Barb[]
Prior to her attack, he was cautious of Barb. During Just Sing, when the Troll leaders pass her to sing in the front stage, he lifts his head shunning her. He seemed fine with her in the ending credits of Don't Slack despite that.
Family[]
Queen Essence[]
Quincy is Essence's husband and for the most part they are on good terms with each other. Essence supports her husband, and looks upon the every day running of Vibe City and the concern for her Tribe, leaving much of the family matters to her husband, such as the search for Cooper until he was found.
Prince D[]
Both parents were thoughtful of their remaining son and careful with their approach on the subject of his missing twin.
Cooper[]
Both parents lost him before he hatched and were searching for him ever since. Quincy is seen overjoyed at finding his son when they flashback to his return to Vibe Town.
Other[]
Cooper mentions having an uncle in Trolls who broke his neck while tapdancing. However, since Cooper was not aware of his status of being a Funk Troll, Cooper's uncle is likely adoptive. In the Trolls: TrollsTopia episode "Fastest Draw in the West", Cooper mentioned his cousins Eddy and Freddy. Similar to the situation with his uncle, it is unknown if they are adoptive Pop Trolls or from his Funk Troll family and therefore related to Quincy.
Skills & Abilities[]
He has most normal Troll abilities, as well as the abilities of his Tribe.
Music[]
He sings with a deep bass vocal.
As king of the Funk Trolls, it was his sworn duty to protect his music, including the purple string of Funk, until the strings were destroyed and the Trolls reunificated as a species.

Etymology[]
He's likely named after Quincy Jones, which could also be the case for the Trolls: TrollsTopia character Lownote Jones.
Trivia[]
- In his hand poster for Trolls World Tour, he's represented with a normal four-fingered hand, which has the same set of rings as his frontal left foot. However, as a quadrupedal Funk Troll, he only has three digits per limb.
