Lonesome Flats is a location within Troll Kingdom that is home to the Country Trolls.
About[]
Lonesome Flats is located in a desert, and is loosely based on a wild west theme.
It is located northeast of Vibe City, northwest of Troll Forest and Pop Village, and west of Symphonyville. The distance from Symphonyville to Lonesome flats is about half a day by foot, which is the time it took Poppy, Branch and Biggie to make it there in Trolls World Tour.
In Trolls: Holiday in Harmony, it was shown that this location does not experience the winter season as it barely snows in warmer climates.
Appearance[]
Lonesome Flats is a sandy and harsh place in Troll Kingdom. The Country Trolls settled on a deserted area after the isolation from the Pop Trolls.
Lonesome Flats appear to be of low technology, as there isn't much of advanced devices in it. It resembles quilt, with different stitches patterned on the ground and buildings. It's mostly comprised of hot colors (e.g. orange, yellow, red, etc.), which matches both the desertic nature of its location and its wild west theme.
Locations[]
BBQ[]
A building in the town that serves as a slaughterhouse for buffalo.
Jail[]
This is the jail that Poppy, Branch and Biggie were thrown into by Delta Dawn.
Mine[]
A subterranean mine located outside of town near a cactus patch. Hickory jumped over it at one point to try and outrun Delta, who was pursuing Poppy's group with her posse when they escaped jail. And at another point while chasing the trio, Delta’s niece, Clampers fell into it.
Grumble Gulch[]
Mentioned in "Disgruntle Weeds", Grumble Gulch is an area near Lonesome Flats that Disgruntle Weeds are taken to so they can roam free.
Concept[]
Lonesome Flats was made from quilted fabrics, burlap, denim, and gingham. The rivers were formed with gossamer fabric. The cliffs were rendered as stacks of blankets on top of one another.[1]
Etymology[]
The name of the location has a double meaning. "Lonesome" refers to how isolated the town is, while "Flats" refers to a flatland. However, "lonesome" also refers to something that's on its own, and "flat" can be used to describe something that's absolute. So the name also reads as "absolute loneliness", which goes with the Country Trolls' love of empathy.
