[]

Lownote Jones is an orange-stripped Funk Troll with purple and red hair tied in a bun and a blue nose. He has a purple goatee and wears golden-framed shades with rose-colored lenses. He also has small studs on his ears. Around his neck is a sparkling yellow, feathery boa. He is a quadrupedal Funk Troll. He has a golden anklet on his front right leg and a ring on one of his front left toes. His fur is long and gown-like. He has only 3 toes on each foot compared to the typical 4 of most Trolls.

As his name suggests, he has a deep bass-toned voice.

Trolls: TrollsTopia[]

Lownote has a voice that is soul-shakingly cool with a mysterious personality to match.[1]

Personality
[]

Lownote is pretty much the epitome of calm, cool, and collected with a suave and charming personality. He is friendly to everyone around him and endlessly patient and kind. He often switches to talking about himself using illeism, and thus refers to himself in a third-person perspective. When addressing others, he often refers them to as "baby". When questioned about why he does certain things (like keep a pet with such cataclysmic potential), Lownote responds that, like his habit of wearing a monocle on Tuesdays, "That's just Lownote being Lownote, babe," indicating Lownote does his own thing and with a sense of self-confidence.

However, he has his moments of losing his cool, such as getting worked up over missing out on the puppy parade in The Buddy System, expressing his frustration of being constantly annoyed by Cloud Guy in "Cloud Control", and requesting Branch to give him advice on how to be socially awkward so as to not inadvertently steal the spotlight at Guy Diamond's birthday party in "The Makeunder". Lownote is upbeat and confident, possessing a healthy sense of pride in his identity, and yet he has an insecure side that comes from how his "cool" inadvertently causes him to take the spotlight from others, even when he didn't intend to.

Furthermore, his kindness and sympathy shows that he can't in good conscience ignore someone who is sad and in need.

Due to his deep, smooth vocals, he has trouble conveying some emotions such as endangerment since he always sounds mellow and laid back.

Lownote seems to be the only Troll incapable of hugging a Snug-a-lug; he keeps one as a pet. This is a feat as Branch, Val Thundershock, Laguna Tidepool and Gust Tumbleweed all bragged about being resistant to hugging but all failed to resist. Lownote is equally relaxed in "The Funk Wash" when The Clean Team failed to clean Vibe Town, mostly because he himself failed worse in the past. He punished them in the episode lightly and states to them that he has access to limitless technological advances and can easily make their penalty for the episode's mishaps worse.

Relationships
[]

Branch[]

Lownote first met Branch when he arrived to become a part of the TrollsTopia project proposed by Poppy. In "The Snug-a-lug Situation", Lownote entrusted his pet to Branch (along with Laguna Tidepool, Val Thundershock and Gust Tumbleweed) after giving them the expressed rule that his pet was not to be hugged, and came back to take care of the situation when it had gotten almost out of control though he assured them no damage was done.

In "Cloud Control", Lownote found out that like himself, Branch, Holly Darlin', Laguna, and Dante Crescendo were all the "favorite Trolls" of Cloud Guy (to annoy), and he briefly expressed his irate frustration after thanking Branch's respect of him. In "The Makeunder", Branch helped Lownote to learn how to be socially awkward in order to avoid taking the spotlight of Guy Diamond's birthday party.

Smidge[]

Lownote first met Smidge when he first arrived in Pop Village to serve as his Tribe's ambassador, and Smidge was instantly smitten with Lownote's deep voice making everything he said sound cool. They were paired up in "The Buddy System", and even though they hit it off, they still had to take time getting to know each other. Since then, Lownote has shown a fondness for Smidge, such as complimenting her smile, which made her swoon.

Guy Diamond[]

Lownote and Guy Diamond got mutual respect of each other due to their habits of being center of the attention, as well as their concerns about how this impacts others. They admitted that they don't mind sharing the spotlight together.

Cloud Guy[]

In "Cloud Control", Lownote was revealed to be another Troll annoyed by Cloud Guy on a regular basis, and he (Cloud Guy) celebrated his "annoyversary" with Lownote and the other Trolls he likes to annoy. His basis for annoying him is that Lownote is so cool, that Cloud Guy likes to get under his skin and make him lose his cool.

Snug-a-lug[]

Lownote Jones has a pet Snug-a-lug and is one of the few Trolls who knows how to not hug one without causing them to multiply in numbers. He cares about the creature a lot and knows how much responsibility comes with owning a world-ending pet. The creature is so adored by Jones that he has his entire bedroom decorated based upon it.

Other Trolls[]

He claimed to have had an adventure in the anti-dimension, where he had to groove off against "Reverse Lownote Jones".

Pushy Poppy

Lownote was not impressed with her. After he awarded victory to Poppy at the end of his Scavenger Hunt across dimensions, she threw a tantrum and demanded victory be awarded to her instead of Poppy. Lownote simply sent her to the pillow dimension for a nap due to her childish behavior.

Dr. Groovetavius Ravenhug

Dr. Ravenhug appears in "To Hug A Snug-A-Lug" after Jones' pet Snug-a-lug.

Skills & Abilities
[]

He has most normal Troll abilities as well as the abilities of his Tribe.

Music[]

He sings with a bass/baritone vocal and plays his bass guitar, the direction indicates he is right-handed.

In "A Life Less Score-dinary", when Dante Crescendo invents the "Musical Score", Lownote added narration to the score, to make the Scores influence on other Trolls greater. The score alone makes things more dramatic and exciting for the Trolls who hear it, increasing reactions and excitement levels greatly. The negative side, is that Trolls don't need more excitement as it is too much for them which makes them less happy.

Socialization[]

Lownote's biggest talent is related to his natural coolness. He was shown to get attention even at weddings, with the groom being unhappy his bride would rather have her first dance with Lownote than him, and Lownote getting embarrassed by the situation. When he attempted at Guy's birthday party to not be cool, Lownote turned out to be also be just as good at that and was able to take Branch's lessons on being uncool, killing Guy's party unintentionally. He was able to restore it and regathered the party-goers using the same coolness he always had.

Vehicle Maneuver[]

In "The Party Pooper", Lownote was shown to be able to use a Funk Troll hoverboard. He appreciates the Vibe Town Spaceship very much, as seen in "The Funk Wash".

Teaching[]

In "Flyer's Ed", Lownote gave a class of Trolls from various Tribes a week-long lesson on how to drive the Vibe Town Spaceship. When Val cheats his course, he tricks her to teach a lesson using what he calls the "Lownote Method". It turns out that he was aware of her tricks due to his experience at teaching.

Science[]

Lownote Jones was a scientist in the past, and still has access to incredible Funk Science. He's in charge of the Vibe Town, the Funk spaceship in TrollsTopia. He uses wormholes to play scavenger hunts and generally knows a lot about the Multiverse.

In "A Life Less Score-dinary", Lownote denies the use of Funk science to defy the laws of time and space in order for Poppy to fit more exciting activities into less time. However, at the end of the episode, he sheepishly admits that he's been doing it all along without her knowing.

Nicknaming[]

Lownote has a unique connection to the universe as seen "What's in a Nickname?", in which the universe speaks to him and lets him assign nicknames to various Trolls he meets. During this, Lownote goes into an almost prophet-like state before the new nickname is declared. The nicknames are random and based on the actions of said Troll and their traits. Branch, afraid of getting a uncool nickname tried to manipulate things and get "Ace", eventually succeeding. After Branch failed, a new nickname of "Skippy Two Shoes" was assigned, which Lownote Jones protested to. Regardless of the choice of naming and Lownote's objections, the nickname sticks and other Trolls begin to use it almost immediately.

Trivia
[]

  • Due to the fact that Poppy transformed temporarily into her father during the wormhole scene, Lownote Jones' mother may have been seen alongside Val Thundershock's father. However, because Poppy's colors were not the same as her own father's and instead were her own colors, it is likely the pairs parents aren't in the correct color.
  • His Spanish first name, "Sonoro" easily translates to "sonorous", meaning "(of a person's voice or other sound) imposingly deep and full", implying how deep and smooth his voice is, aside from his long vocal cords.
