Mattel is a toy manufacturing company.
About[]
In 2022, Mattel took over from Hasbro as the producer of DreamWorks Trolls merchandise, with their first products due in Fall 2023, which is in line with the Trolls Band Together movie.[1][2] The licensing is a multi-year license, meaning that Mattel will produce toys for the foreseeable future.[3]
The licensing distribution of merchandise will be the first time Mattel has handled any official Troll Dolls merchandise. In 2022, they released a toy for the main flagship brand the Good Luck Trolls in the companies Hot Wheels toyline.[4]
As of mid-2023, the company has begun to release their own tie-in toys. Many of the new toy line ups are tie-in promotional licenses, but new ranges are often just Mattel's own version of similar product lines sold by Hasbro. In Mid-2024 they stopped producing Trolls Band Together merchandise almost entirely and are now producing unrelated licensed merchandise to the film using the licensing of the characters they have access to.
