"Mini Mini Golf" is the second segment of the 1st episode of the fourth season of Trolls: TrollsTopia, and the 53rd overall episode in the series. It premiered in September 2, 2021.
Synopsis[]
R&B invents a machine that shrinks them down to play in a tiny mini-golf course.
Plot[]
Rhythm and Blues are showing off their new invention: Mini Mini Golf, a golf course so small you need a shrink ray to play, which they also invented. As the other Trolls rush to grab a golf bag, Dante is the only one not rushing, noting it has been too long since he hit the links. He waves his composer's baton and a bunch of flying critters appear, who dress him up and give him his clubs. Synth is impressed and suggests he and Dante be golf buddies. Though Dante is unsure of this pairing, the shrink ray hits while he is still reacting.
Inside the course, Poppy and Branch have paired up and Branch admires Poppy's drive swing, as it travels 5 inches (in perspective, this is a lot, considering the size of the course). Dante and Synth are at a hole, and Synth gets bored while waiting for Dante to do his swing; he sees his composer baton and plays with it, making the critters from before to return and sing before throwing Dante off his swing. Dante tries to switch partners with Poppy, as he and Branch share the same style of golfing hat. Poppy tells Dante that they haven't spent much time together, and to give Synth a chance as there isn't a better friend. Branch compliments Dante's hat, but Poppy won't swap.
As they search for Dante's ball, Synth spots an éclair on the golf course that someone dropped. When he starts to drive towards it, Dante notes it would be a better use of their time to find his ball, leading to Synth to be torn between his partner's needs and the éclair. They fight over the steering wheel, causing the two to drive off the golf course while spinning out of control and end up falling through a gutter outside of Vibe Town. Synth finally confesses; he has never played golf before, and asks if it is always like this. Dante points out that they are lost and with no way to be found, since no- one knows what happened to them. While Dante frets over the situation, Synth is focused on the fact he missed out on seeing the giant éclair.
The ground shakes, and Mr. Dinkles appears as a giant worm to them as well as Val, Holly, Gust, and Biggie. Dante and Synth try and get their attention by yelling, but they are too tiny to be heard. Synth tries Dante's baton as he wanted to see if they could do dubstep earlier, but Dante grabs it from him, as their lives are in danger. Dante tries to use the critters to grab their attention by getting them to sing normally. Gust spots Dante's "do fellows". Val notes they are making music without Dante, but she fails to comprehend what this means. The duo is now in trouble as the 4 Trolls begin to dance and almost step on the pair.
Back on the course, the Trolls are having fun as they enjoy being small. Poppy is worried and hopes Dante and Synth catch up soon, but Branch says they are likely having just as much fun as they are. Meanwhile, Dante and Synth are stuck to the bottom of one of Holly's hooves on some bubblegum. At her home in Country Corral, Holly wipes her feet and the duo come off her hooves. Synth wants to try the baton again and try to get them to dubstep. Dante loses his temper and tells Synth that it's his fault they are in this predicament in the first place, since it was his fun-loving that set them off course. Synth is saddened by the situation and states he was just trying to help; Dante sees that his words hurt Synth, and gently sympathizes with him, ensuring him that he knows that he is just trying to help. He believes that as a composer he must remain in control, and believes getting closer to Holly is the answer.
Dante pulls Synth out of the gum and flies over to Holly's dresser. They land on her hairbrush and try to get her attention, but she grabs the brush and begins to brush her hair. When the brush isn't enough, she begins the full treatment of various hair products and care; unknown to her, the duo is now in her hair. They fair all the treatments, but Dante gets stuck under a roll of Holly's hair and the hair dryer presents a risk of them dying accidentally via the heat. Synth now suggests his idea, to which Dante reluctantly hands over the baton. Much to Dante's horror, Synth tries to get the critters to do dubstep, but it turns out that the Critters can do dubstep, and they begin to convey Synth's song to Holly.
Holly is surprised they are doing dubstep. They shine a light on her hair and in the mirror she finally sees Synth and Dante.
Back at the Mini Mini Golf course, the other Trolls have been returned to normal size and Poppy was surprised, as they had no idea Dante and Synth weren't on the course anymore. Holly takes the moment to say that she is not surprised that they were in her big beautiful hair. The shrink ray returns them to normal size and the others cheer for them.
Dante and Synth reconcile with each other, with Dante thanking Synth for saving their lives, apologizes to him for not trusting him sooner and declares that he is now his friend to have by his side. Synth points out they never finished that round of golf and the two shrink back down to tiny size again. On the course, Dante decides it is too quiet, and asks Synth to give him a beat he can golf to. Synth gets Dante's critters to sing dubstep once again.

Trivia[]
- Miniature golf is a miniature version of golf. Like in normal golf, players try to get the ball in the hole with as little "swings" as possible with the game ending at the 18th hole. However, the game focuses only on the putting part, and ignoring the other aspects of golf beyond this. The courses are often themed, and there's usually a silliness to the game.
- This is the second episode revolved around miniature golf in the franchise. The first one was the Trolls: The Beat Goes On! episode "Peril Patch".
- Synth and Dante's pairing is similar to Poppy's and Branch's, who pair up again for this episode, Dante is a serious golfer like Branch, and Synth is a less serious one like Poppy. This is likely also why Poppy encourages Dante to give Synth a chance, as she enjoys her own team-up with Branch.
- Val displays the Rock Troll "epiphany" for a brief moment, but fails to comprehend what she's seeing. This is a typical problem with the Rock Trolls; they often have moments where they understand what other Tribes don't see, but they have the issue of not always "getting" their interpretation, since they aren't always that intelligent, making their conclusions inconsistent.
- The episode's plot is a reference to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
- The bubblegum scene may also be a reference to Antz, another DreamWorks movie. In the movie, Z and Princess Bala get stuck on the bottom of a shoe thanks to bubblegum.
- The fact that Synth could get the critters to help but Dante couldn't is likely a nod back to Trolls World Tour, where Barb said that Classical Music lacked lyrics. However, this is not the same for other genres, including Techno music, thus Synth could get them to sing "help" and Dante couldn't due to his genre they responded only in a capella.
