About
[]

The song medley is the main focus of the Rage Dome concert that the duo Velvet and Veneer are meant to be singing. They cut short their entrance and instead take to the streets in a run away situation with Trolls Poppy, Tiny Diamond and Branch is pursuit. The song is not just their final concert, in which they will win a Life-Time Reward and be set for life, but a way of taunting the Trolls who are trying to get BroZone back from them. Their fans drive alongside them, creating natural barriers that prevent the Trolls from getting to them and allowing the duo to be escorted in safety.

Despite the impressive dance and singing moves while on the run, the song is without its faults (See "Trivia section"). It is a summary of what the two have not only amounted to on their raise to fame, but a nod to Velvet and Veneer's relationship itself. The issues can only be picked up upon by the listener, if they are paying attention to not only what the song is about, but the way the two singers are singing with Velvet's personality leaking into the song itself.

It is a medley-style song and is meant to have an encore, but Velvet is cut off before it.

Trivia
[]

  • The result of the combination of song choices is intended to be an ironic nod to Velvet and Veneer's raise to fame and fortune.
    • The opening begins with the duo singing Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), as they then go into this medley. Sweet Dreams is used here as a note towards themselves and that actually their dreams are beyond their reach (as they have no talent), as well as being a semi-taunt at Branch, Poppy and Tiny Diamond who are chasing them as BroZone are beyond Trolls reach.
    • Once the actual medley begins, it then goes into the song "Fame", which is about wanting to be acknowledged for the talents of the singer. Except the duo have no actual talents and are stealing it from BroZone.
    • Their song "Watch Me Work" is about the duo working hard to achieve their goals. The duo once again did not work for any of their success.
  • In addition to all of this, as the medley progresses, Velvet takes over the vocals more and more. This is a nod to her personality. Because of this, Veneer is slowly pushed aside and reduced to being the backup singer. She does this in several ways.
    • "Sweet Dreams" is sung as normal.
    • During "Fame" she begins to add vocalizations where there were none. She start to sing over Veneer's normal singing vocal, stealing them for herself. She is also loud enough that her vocal now stands out from Veneer's and as the segment continues he is getting quieter. By the end of the segment her vocal can be heard while his is not. As a result, he looses his solos and they drop their "call and response" style of singing and loose harmonization while Veneer is drowned out by her vocals.
      • This leaves her barely enough to finish one note before she begins the next. This means that in terms of the track layout itself, impossible note overlapping begins to happen at points where mulpitile tracks of her singing overlap. (example: Velvet and Veneer: "I'm going to learn how to fly" (Velvet chiming in at the same time: "fly")
    • Veneer stops singing entirely at times during "Watch me Work" as Velvet becomes the sole singer. This is where the medley hits its biggest issues
    • She also uses a head voice/falsetto vocals at times which allow her to go higher than Veneer can manage. While female vocals naturally do have higher note registers then male, she has always capped things to allow for her to compliment Veneer's vocal range, while she was slowly becoming unchecked in "Fame", in "Watch me Work" she holds nothing back. She as a result leaves him behind and displays a wider vocal range then him overall and even becomes "pitchy" at times on purpose.
    • Velvet's singing overall has more stereo effect to it, especially by the end. This makes her vocal appear to come from multiple directions or echo, while Veneer's is flatter and more consistent and at times almost mono. This is especially apparent if a listener is paying attention to the song medley using headphones instead of speakers.
    • She is halted before the encore, which was solely her choice to begin and not Veneer's. Veneer realizes that she has gone too far at this point as Floyd's in danger of dying and this has to stop. It is clear the encore was unplanned and Veneer was no longer having a say in any of the direction their performance was taking.
