Plot
[]

At night, Mr. Dinkles is seen howling at the moon as Guy Diamond wanders through the bushes with Poppy. He wants to rehearse his big speech and Poppy is wondering why so deep within the woods of the forest. Tiny finds the idea amusing, as Guy explains that he is taking precaution to prevent spoilers from happening. He is the speaker at this year's Glitter-con and it's a big deal. They enter an underground cave with lots of space, but has a colony of bats. For a moment, Guy falls over and acts injured; he gets Poppy to sign a non-disclosure to promise she won't share his speech with anyone. He stands up and begins his speech as the camera reveals a bite mark on his neck.

Guy is having a nightmare in his pod sometime later. Tiny wakes him up and Guy talks about having the classic nightmare of being clothed in public. He tosses off the bedsheets and finds he is wearing a full suit and goes behind a screen to take it off, but when he returns he has a hat, glasses and cane now. As they question what's going on, Laguna appears to answer that question after Poppy told her about the encounter with the bats. She states they have given him a supernatural desire to wear clothes; he is becoming a "Glampire". She says that as a "Vampire Helper" she will help cure him. Guy states that he only has a couple of days before Glitter-con to fix the problem and swears by the shine of his glitter he'll do everything to cure himself. He rips the clothes off and then states he'll go grab a coat, horrified at that statement.

Laguna tells Guy that if he lives without clothes for an entire day in an abandoned pod which has none, he may cure himself of "Glampism". They wait an entire day only to find that when they open the pod, Guy had fashioned clothes out of the pod's furnishings. Next, Laguna tries to make a potion that will cure Guy, while Guy is starting to find his outfits dashing. He no longer has a desire to go back to who he was before.

Guy is seen around the market square creeping around before presenting himself, haunting Poppy, Biggie and Holly as a Glampire. As he continues his stalking, he says that he thirsts for breathable cotton before finding a suit on a mannequin behind a bush. As he grabs the outfit, Laguna and Tiny reveal themselves and spray Guy with the cure. He tries to resist, but appears to be cured of his addiction to clothing.

Finally at the gala, the Glitter Trolls gather to fart glitter and socialize. Guy thanks Laguna for her help, as he can now do the speech without causing a scandal. However, unbeknownst to him, he had tied the napkin into a bowtie around his neck. The formula is wearing off, and Laguna wonders if they didn't use enough; before they can do anything about the situation, Guy is due on stage. At the stage, he looks at everything and can only think about putting on clothes. He speaks but ends up ditching behind the speaker's stand and comes up clothed. To his surprise, the other Glitter Trolls applaud him for giving into his true nature as a Glampire rather than as a Glitter Troll.

Although he is given more formula, Guy decides that there never was such a curse as Glampism, and he has only been discovering a new side of himself. The crowd then cheers for him.

Trivia
[]

  • The title is a play on "once bitten, twice shy", which refers to a small act of lost confidence that has a big impact on a person's self-esteem. It is also a reference to the fact that biting is a common act attributed to vampires.
  • The species "Glampire" is a portmanteau of "Glamour" and "Vampire".
  • This is the second episode in the 2D series to feature a vampire-esque creature, the first being the Fang Flowers from the Trolls: The Beat Goes On! episode "Coop, Where's My Guy?".
  • Mr. Dinkles howls like a wolf at the start of the episode. This is a reference to Brim Stoker's Dracula, as many adaptations add this due to the introduction's description of the journey to the castle. Meanwhile, Guy replaces Dracula himself, and Laguna stands in the role of Professor Abraham Van Helsing, another character from the story who helped combat Dracula and finally bring him to an end.
  • Some of Guy's outfits seen in the story are references to Dracula adaptations. For example, his hairstyle when he's in Biggie's pod is a reference to the 1992 film.
  • "I thirst for breathable cotton" is a reference to the phrase "I thirst for blood", a joke at how vampires are normally depicted as having a craving for blood, the original meaning implies the person actually thirst for violent conflict.
  • Guy's nightmare of being clothed in public is a reversal of the "naked in public" joke.
  • The first time it was mentioned that Glitter Trolls wearing clothes is regarded as "gross" was in the Trolls: The Beat Goes On! "Truth or Dare". However, while it was always implied they were never clothed to begin with (with Guy "Naked for life!" boasting in "Model Behavior"), two of the named Glitter Trolls wore clothes, these being Sky Toronto (although he only wears a necktie) and Gia Grooves (who wears a full dress). This episode continues the stigma about Glitter Trolls wearing clothes, and brings the issue to a conclusion in the case of Guy.
  • This is the fifth episode to have Guy Diamond's name in the title, the first four being "Coop, Where's My Guy?", "Weekend At Diamond's" and "Guy Misses Out" from Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, and "Shiny Diamond" from this series.
