Putt Putt Trolls, also called Golf Trolls in other official media, are Trolls that hail from the Pop Troll tribe that live in a sub-tribe away from the rest of the Tribe. They have been cut off from them for a couple of decades, being founded soon after the last Trollstice and the events mentioned in Trolls.
Putt Putt Trolls are the first Trolls to be part of a new category, after Trolls World Tour introduced the Trolls being identified by their genre of music they based their cultures around, thus it marked the return of the older classification. They are first introduced in Trolls Band Together.
History[]
They used to be like any other Pop Troll until the events 20 years before Trolls.
The Putt Putt Trolls separated from the Pop Troll tribe over 20 years ago, to the point they didn't know any of the events of Trolls. According to the storyline, during the last Trollstice, when the Trolls escape, the Putt Putt Trolls got separated from the other Pop Trolls as the entire tribe escaped, causing the Putt Putt Trolls to set up their home far from the other Pop Trolls. Among them, Viva and Clay were also included. They discovered an abandoned Bergen mini-golf course and took up residence, which they redubbed as "Hole N' Fun", thus becoming the Putt Putt Trolls.
As such, they didn't even know about the other Trolls befriending the Bergens in Trolls and continued to train until Trolls Band Together. Viva became their leader in the meantime.
Appearance[]
They mostly look like normal Trolls, but they can make their hair form a ball around them. Outside of Viva, the majority of the Putt Putt Trolls look like Clay.
They tend to have frizzy or straight hair regardless of appearance, the hair is often equal (whereas other Trolls can have strains of various lengths) instead of the typical hair of most other Pop Trolls so when they form a ball they form a sphere. They are also generally colored one hue (for example, Clay's design is based upon a yellow-green-blue palette and all shades are similar in tone to each other), so a Troll in the Tribe who has blue hair has a similar tone or color body and outfit. Viva remains an exception to this rule among the Tribe, as she has blonde hair and a pink body.
They also tend to wear clothing that is made of wool, with some wearing caps. These caps double as disguises, making a Troll hiding underneath them look like a tuff of grass.

Etymology[]
Their name refers to how they can transform into a fluffy ball and act like a miniature golf ball.
Trivia[]
- Putt Putt Trolls call burgers "meat circles" because the word "burger" sounds like "Bergen".
- According to an interview, Walt Dohrn revealed that Putt Putt Trolls are based on stranded Japanese soldiers, who were trapped on the island of Lubang, during World War II. [1]
