Striped Smiley, also known as Stripe Smiley, is a recurring character in Trolls: TrollsTopia. He is the owner of various attractions in TrollsTopia (including the Marketplace candy bar, the Fun Dungeon's Prize Corner, the Tunnel of Friendship and certain installations of the Hug Fest Theme Park).
Appearance[]
- Normal
Striped Smiley is a light blue-skinned Pop Troll with orange hair. He wears an outfit with white and red stripes on it along with a bow tie, which is a reference to his own name.
He talks relatively loudly and quickly, though he is still understandable.
Personality[]
Smiley is shown with the typical happy-go-lucky salesman stereotype. He often hypes up everything he is talking about, but he is honest about his products.
Skills & Abilities[]
He has most normal Troll abilities as well as the abilities of his tribe.
Candy[]
As the owner of the Marketplace's candy bar, Smiley sells liquorice and an unknown array of other sorts of candies. His specialty is taffy sculptures, which he can make of with a large size, very detailed, and life-like.
Perception[]
As seen in "Surprise-O-Tron", Smiley can count the number of tickets at the Fun Dungeon's Prize Corner just by looking at them with a loupe.
Craftmanship[]
In "The Tunnel of Friendship", Smiley claims that he will get things fixed when the Tunnel of Friendship suddenly gets a wrench; however, he only ends up making things worse in the episode itself. Whether the tunnel was fixed at the end of the episode is left ambiguous, thus making it unclear if Smiley was ultimately able to fix the tunnel by himself or if the task was done by someone else.
Trivia[]
- Smiley's appearance and mannerisms are based on The Music Man, which was set in the 1910s.
- His appearance is normally associated with con men, as the musical's main character, Harold Hill, who was himself a con man.
- His role in the series is similar to that of Tug Duluth. In fact, since the start of the show, Tug has not had a major role like she did in Trolls: The Beat Goes On! and Smiley took over all the seen ventures that she had, including the prize booth at the Hug Fest Theme Park.
