Val teams up with Holly Darlin' and Rhythm on a quest to win enough tickets in the Fun Dungeon to claim an extra special prize for Poppy.

Plot
[]

At the Fun Dungeon arcade, Poppy is watching Val play pinball. She shows off her winning, but with a dangerous move "Val, I don't think that's a good idea": she pulls the spring launcher so far back it sends the ball rolling. and it wins her a lot of points before the machine breaks. Val goes to cash in the tickets she has won.

Striped Smiley is on the prize corner booth, waiting for Holly and Rhythm. Val appears and goes to give her tickets for 8 spider rings, 3 glow in the dark yo-yos, and a slide whistle. Smiley goes to get the prizes, but another prize catches Val's attention. Rhythm identifies it as the "History of Scrapbooks: The Scrapbook", and is confused by why Val wants it, as is Val, but she thinks Poppy would love it and she thinks of it as being selfish for someone else. Holly identifies it as "thoughtfulness", which blows Val's mind, and when they make a point to "aw" about it, making Val respond that she "gets it", she is growing. The only problem is that the book is 10,000 tickets. Smiley plays up the book's value and warns them that there is another Troll after the scrapbook: a father and child are shown with the baby's saliva melting the book it is sucking on. Val won't let the baby get its gums on the book, and asks Smiley which machine gives out the highest amount of tickets; this turns out to be the Surprise-O-Tron.

According to Smiley, when Poppy and the Fuzzlings built the place, she had them build the funniest and most ticket-est game ever. The problem is that they got carried away and Poppy was forced to declare it "out of order". Smiley hasn't been helpful, but Val sees the baby destroy a scrapbook and the 3 of them vow to win the tickets to get that scrapbook.

After a montage to get enough tickets, despite thinking they have the 10,000 tickets, they only have 307 tickets. Rhythm tells Val that no matter what Poppy will appreciate her working hard to get her the tickets, as it is the thought that counts. Val dismisses that claim, and wants to give the Surprise-O-Tron a go.

They break into the machine's area and Val pulls off the blanket; it is a pinball machine. She boasts about ruling that particular game. Rhythm tells her that the game is out of order, but Val reminds them Smiley said that was the fastest way to gain tickets. As she grabs the pinball machine's launcher, the machine locks her hand and feet in place, while doing the same for Rhythm and Holly. A door opens up behind the machine and they enter screaming.

They are in total darkness and when the lights come on, their inside a life-sized version of the game. The machine introduces itself and states they earn tickets the longer they last. A ball lands in the launcher next to them, to which Holly realizes "the longer you last" means "the longer you survive". As the machine rounds itself up to launch the ball, Val makes the "run!" call. Holly and Rhythm fall victims to the Machine's buffs and bounces, and Holly notes no wonder it was put out of order. They have to get out of the machine, but don't have enough tickets to get Poppy's scrapbook; Val realizes that they do have to get out of there. The problem is that there's no door; Val realizes she's going to have to do their move.

As they push the launcher's plunger back, the ball begins to whack against the side of the glass to the launcher, panicking them. They push it back far enough and Val grabs the ball, turning her hair into its shape. They manage to break out of the machine. The commotion they create exiting grabs Poppy's attention, who notes the out of order sign.

Val confesses she was trying to win enough tickets to get the scrapbook, to which Poppy notes it's beautiful and exactly her taste. Val states she kept picturing how much she'd love it, and spent all day trying to get it but is still 3,000 tickets short. Despite not winning the book, Poppy appreciates the effort and is thankful for her thoughtfulness. After the two settle the moment, the father and child from earlier had seen everything, and touched by their efforts gives Val the last 3,000 tickets to allow them to get the book, plus the 7,000 tickets from the Surprise-O-Tron, which means they can finally claim the book. Val gives Poppy the book, as and they celebrate Smiley puts "History of Scrapbooks; The Scrapbook, the sequel" on the shelf to replace the book; this one is worth 20,000 tickets. The 4 friends are lastly seen on a pinball in the Surprise-O-Tron.

Trivia
[]

  • "O-Tron" is a common made-up suffix to add to words, which has been used in popular media for decades. "Tron" means "device", and the intention of the name is to imply the "O-Tron" device will be fun, as "O" just means "of". For example, a "Smell-O-Tron" device would imply a device that unleashes fun smells.
  • Rhythm appears without Blues in this episode.
  • In the claw machine, Holly and Rhythm win a crown and a diamond. These are valuable items but their response is because they were after tickets, so these items have no value. A Snug-a-lug also appears and snatches them from the machine's claw.
  • When Rhythm says "Okay, agree to disagree" to Val, she folds her arm and places it on her hip, and the arm's bracelet disappears. The animation was likely borrowed from her other arm, which doesn't have a bracelet on.
