The Art of DreamWorks Trolls is one of a series of movie concept books written by Jerry Schmitz. It was published by Titan Books in September 2016, and talks about the development of Trolls. Its follow-up is The Art of DreamWorks Trolls World Tour.

About
[]

The book serves to explain how DreamWorks Animation came to design the Trolls movie. It reveals many early rejected concepts and design ideas. While a few of the concepts of the book are also shown in the DVD extras of the movie, only a selective few are shown. The book talks about rejected characters and ideas as the origins of the Troll Dolls. Each edge of the page has a metallic edge, giving the fore-edge of the book a silver sheen. There are 160 pages of content.

Due to the fact that the book contains information not disclosed in the movie, it provides insight on many unspoken events from the movie. It is also considered an official storyline source or "canon".

Extras
[]

A poster of the book's cover of Poppy and Branch is included in a sleeve at the back.

Additional Notes
[]

This book does not cover the period before the movie was redesigned as a musical, and doesn't even mention the abandoned film. Almost nothing on the film's pre-2013 era, or what led up to it from 2006, is mentioned. It only focused on the film's development from September 2012 onwards.
