Synopsis
[]

Lownote Jones recruits Branch, Val, Gus Tumbleweed and Laguna Tidepool to "petsit" his exotic pet snug-a-lug, the most adorable critter in the universe. But there's one rule that they must never break: you can't hug a snug-a-lug!

Plot
[]

Lownote Jones is with Poppy as she makes an announcement: Lownote needs help, as it is a dire emergency. Lownote's voice, however, has difficulty showing the serious nature of the situation. He has to go into space to correct their planet's "groovitational pull". While he is gone, he needs someone to petsit his pet Snug-a-lug. The problem is that the crowd of Trolls finds the pet adorable, which is not what Lownote wants. Everyone is up to take care of it, but the idea of giving it a hug horrifies the crowd.

Branch offers up to look after the pet, which Poppy says that even he must admit it is hard to not hug it. Val Thundershock steps forward to offer up her aid as she thinks it is also easy to not hug it, and she could do this task solo. Laguna then steps in, saying resisting a hug is merely a subject of one's objectivity, and that she could do it too. Gust Tumbleweed also notes that if he can control people in a excited event, looking after a Snug-a-lug would be no problem to him. Poppy loves the four Trolls volunteering, but states she is not a fan of their attitudes. As Lownote says it is settled, Poppy says she now needs someone to hold her back as she just wants to hug it; it is so cute. She rushes forward and Lownote lifts it up as a couple of Trolls jump on her to stop her.

At Branch's bunker, Lownote explains why they can't hug the Snug-a-lug. After just one hug, it splits into two. But it doesn't stop there; the more they hug, the more it splits until they're overrun with Snug-a-lugs. They continue this until the planet is overrun. As Poppy "awws" the idea, Lownote states that it is not a good thing to correct her. Laguna wants to know why Lownote would keep a pet with castranomical potential, but he says just like why he wears a monocle on Tuesday; he is just Lownote Jones, and he does what he does. He gives them a button to press in case they need help.

When Val tosses the button away, the four then begin to mock the idea that resisting hugging is that difficult and break into a song. When the song ends to the horror of the other three Branch almost hugs the Snug-a-lug. He runs away from it and backs behind the other three. Horrified, he states he didn't even realize he was doing it. Val scoffs at him, talks to the Snug-a-lug and slowly becomes aware she has the urge to hug it. Laguna realizes prolonged exposure to the creature is causing their cuddle resistances to wear down, and their getting the urge to hug it. As Laguna succumbs to it, Gust rushes to hug it and is jumped on by the other three.

Gust suggests they are in too much trouble and should call Lownote, but Branch is reluctant as they haven't got 45 minutes. He pulls the group together and says they can do this. However, two minutes later and the four are struggling. They have created a shield from it using a chair, and are taking turns to toss a toy on its way to play with it. As it licks Branch, the four become terrified of it. It jumps forward to Branch's lap.

Lownote Jones returns to get his pet, and the others claim it was no problem. He walks off with his pet and the four relax. After Jones has gone, and while they are celebrating, suddenly another Snug-a-lug appears near them. Branch concludes one of them hugged the Snug-a-lug. The four become suspicious of each other. It points to Gust and Gust confesses. As Val and Laguna voice their disapproval of Gust, two more Snug-a-lugs appear and point at the pair. As Branch goes to criticize them, a fourth appears; it turns out that all four of them hugged the Snug-a-lug seperately.

Laguna suggests calling in Lownote for help but Branch says they'll be fine so long as they don't hug them anymore. No sooner has he spoken, the Snug-a-lugs hug. It turns out they're able each other to hug and create more of them without the Trolls. The four panic as the creatures begin to double in number. Branch uses Gary to lock them in a room. No sooner does he think the situation is contained then he gets proven wrong. Branch realizes they should have called Lownote as the creatures break down his metal door.

They rush to find the device to contact Lownote as Cooper greets them having entered the Bunker. When he goes to explain why he's there so late the creatures overwhelm him. Soon, Branch's bunker is flooded with Snug-a-lugs. Val makes a leap for the device but fails to grab it in time. Soon the Trolls are drowning in Snug-a-lugs. The Trolls all apologize as they admit their arrogace got them into this mess. Val manages to get the device and Branch calls for help just as the Snug-a-lugs overwhelm them entirely.

A bright light appears and the Snug-a-lugs start to disappear. The five Trolls inside the bunker hug, even though Cooper had no role in the events of the episode.

They apologize to Lownote for being unable to look after the Snug-a-lug, but Lownote says it would have been a different story if they had got out of the bunker. As Lownote brags about getting every last one of them, one peers from the hatch of Branch's bunker, indicating that they missed one.
