When the eternally optimistic Poppy, queen of the Trolls, learns that the Bergens no longer have any holidays on their calendar, she enlists the help of Bridget--her new bestie--and the rest of the gang in a delightfully quirky mission to fix something that the Bergens don't even think is broken. Based on the new DreamWorks' Trolls Holiday TV special, this full-color Little/Big Golden Book retells the entire laugh-out-loud story.

In Bergen Castle, Bridget and King Gristle Jr. recieve a card from Queen Poppy. Gristle grumbles about them receiving yet another card as its as if the Troll have a holiday everyday.

At her Pod, Poppy talks to Branch about them sending a "Monday" card as Branch points out Monday is not a holiday. Poppy notes they got rid of Trollstice, which is a good thing and she realizes that they now don't have a holiday. The next morning Poppy and her friends break into Branch's bunker and get him on board with her plan to give the Bergens a new holiday.

The find on the caterbus that Cloud Guy is the driver, to the horror of Branch. The Trolls get carried away dancing and Cloud Guy joins in, thus no one is driving the bus. This causes the bus to fall into a worm hole and the Trolls become dolls. They leave the wormhole and arrive a Bergen town castle.

After presenting their ideas to Bridget and Gristle, the Bergens didn't like any of them. Bridget tried to get Poppy to stop but Poppy doesn't listen. While Branch tries to explain how her plan is failing, Poppy misunderstands him and continues the presentation of holidays. She continues until Bridget puts her foot down and tells the Trolls to stop. Bridget tells Poppy to go.

Outside Poppy is sad she upset Bridget. Branch tries to cheer up Poppy and starts to sing, following her. Back at Bergen Town Bridget and Gristle realise Poppy meant well. Branch meanwhile continues until Poppy snaps at him like Bridget snapped at her. Poppy realises she'd only thought about Troll things and not what the Bergens like. Their attention is drawn back to Bergen Town as they hear music.

The return to find the Bergens have found a holiday - the celebration of their friendship with the Trolls.
