This policy page lists all the rules related to the articles on this wiki.
For guidelines about the style and organization of articles, see the wiki's Manual of Style.
Editing
- No profanity of any description are allowed on articles on this wiki.
- Any edits involving deliberate destruction or damage to pages will not be tolerated, as this is considered vandalizing.
- External links on articles should only lead to pages that relate to the topic of this wiki. External links should also be G/PG.
- Avoid making small, repeated edits. This is considered "edit farming" and "badge farming".
- Do not add personal opinions. Article pages are for definite information, not an expression of how a particular user feels about the topic of a page. If you would like to say your opinion, you can do so in the comments or make a blog post.
- User pages, also known as profiles, belong to their respective users. You should not edit someone's user page if it doesn't belong to you, and you don't have their permission. If the user page violates any of the wiki's policies, then please contact an administrator.
Creating Pages
- Before creating a page, make sure to use the search function to check that no pages of that name already exist. Duplicate pages will be deleted, but will not usually result in any consequences besides an informal warning, unless there is reasonable suspicion that it is being done with the intention of harm.
- Pages that do not relate to the wiki's topic will be deleted.
- Don't recreate pages unless the user who deleted that page has given you permission, as there is usually a reason why the page was deleted.
Reverting Edits
- Inform an user if you reverted their previous edit(s) on a page, and please provide a reason for doing so.
- No "edit warring". An "edit war" is a series of edits that involve users continually undoing each other's edits or re-adding the changes.
Page Protection
Pages that are highly vandalized are often protected (referred to also as "locked"). These pages may be temporarily or permanently locked. A temporary protection is often rushed into place to prevent vandalization, or to slow it down, while the editor is dealt with. A permanent protection comes when a page is constantly hit by vandalism and constantly repairing the page proves counter productive.
If a editor wishes to edit a protected page, please contact a member of the Trolls Trollpedia staff, who will temporary unprotect (referred to also as "unlock") the page.
For more information about Vandalism, please refer to Rules and Regulations as well as Code of Conduct of this wiki.
