Who Edits The Wiki?

The Trolls Trollpedia relies on volunteers to edit its pages. Anyone can edit the wiki and add information; to do so simply hit "edit" and begin.

Do I Need To Learn Wiki Coding?

You will need to be aware of wiki coding, but it is possible to make edits without doing so. Do not feel overwhelmed by the wiki coding; no one expects newbie editors to know wiki code straight away, as even veterans with years of experience are often learning new things, particularly as the Fandom wiki staff add new content for editors and wiki staff to use all the time.

To learn wiki coding, there are a number of "how to" guides available on Fandom.

There are other ways to help, even if you cannot grasp it. For example, a wiki always needs grammar and spelling checked. We also will always need fact checkers who dedicate their spare time to checking that facts within each wiki page are correct. We will always need people who are prepared to spend time adding categories to pages or images and tag unwanted pages with {{Delete}}, too.

Do I Need To Engage In The Community?

No, but it is recommended, as it helps to build our community, giving another reason for other fans to visit. Interacting with others on the wiki is just as important as editing is, though it may not seem like it at first.

Blogs, Discussions, the Discord chat server and article comment sections are there to be used as a means to communicate with your fellow fans. They are not just there for staff members to discuss contents of page. We don't expect you to write poetry daily on each character you adore, but please note simple messages such as "<3 Branch" may be taken as spam.

If you do make a message and no one responds immediately, do not get alarmed. There are things such as time zones to consider, plus not all visitors will attend the wiki daily. The wiki is a also a working project, which you do have to bare in mind, and that means some editors are here for voluntary editing, so respect must be given to avoid conflicts of interest between casual and work-based members of the community.

How Do I Become A Member Of Staff?

A Bureaucrat is the only member of staff who can promote an editor to a different ranking. The promotion process is not just based on experience of the editor, but also performance and on if an editor obeys to three things; good editing practices, regular presence on the wiki and good behavior. In other words, the Bureaucrat has to be able to trust who they are promoting. Inexperienced editors may be considered for higher ranking so long as they display a willingness to learn.

Any staff member who abuses their position can be stripped off of their ranks.
